"the Lord hath said he dwelleth not in unholy temples, but in the hearts of the righteous doth he dwell;" (Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith, Alma 34:36)
"the idea that the Father and the Son dwell in a man's heart is an old sectarian notion, and is false. (D&C, Joseph Smith, 130:3)
Now, read it again. Did you see it? I did.

Spiritual Substance
This post is in response to a comment made under the post, "Why Protestants Agree With Mormons Part Three."
To quote our Lord and Savior, "Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth." (John 4:23&24)
The work of God is spiritual, the goals of God are spiritual, the life of God is spiritual, God reveals all things spiritually for God is Spirit. "The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man's spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us. This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words." (1 Corinthians 2:10-13)
"those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God." (Romans 8:14)
Jesus Himself states that the substance of the flesh is nothing. "The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life. Yet there are some of you who do not believe." (John 6:63&64) When we get hung up on the fleshy substance of things we do not have the Spirit within ourselves. "The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned." (1 Corinthians 2:14)
Although Christ had to come to earth in the flesh, it's the flesh that is of no concern to God. Life comes by the way of the Spirit and all things that are created are for His pleasure through the Spirit. With this in mind; "My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding, and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He holds victory in store for the upright." (Proverbs 2:1-7)
"The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children." (Romans 8:16)
It is my prayer that God will reveal the truth in the substance of His Spirit to all those earnestly seeking Spiritual substance.
Why Protestants Agree With Mormons? Part Nine
"Here are some examples. [Part eight of eight]
God is a Man
The LDS Church teaches that not only does God the Father have a body, but that He is also a man. This belief really freaks Protestants and they like to use the mantra "God was never a man" against the LDS members.
Why do Protestants actually agree?
Once again their Trinitarian belief draws them into a roundabout agreement with the LDS Church. They believe that Jesus was with God and is God. Well? Jesus was born on Earth and received a physical body, right? Which means, according to their Trinitarian belief, God was born and was a man! You've gotta love the irony that some Evangelicals well argue with LDS members till they're blue in the face that God was never a man, then go to church and read tracts titled "Why God Became Man". Go figure. Also, He's called our FATHER in Heaven, not our Entity in Heaven. I could be off, but the word father usually denoted Male." (Kelly Bingham, Why Protestants Agree With Mormons (They Just Don't Realize It), www.moroni10.com, December 7, 2007, Brackets added)
"Will we see all three members of the Trinity when we get to Heaven?
The Bible says, "In Him (Christ) dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead BODILY." Col. 2:9 Since Christ is the express image of God in bodily form, it seems clear to me that He is the only One of the Trinity who will be visible when we get to glory. The Scripture does say in Revelation 22:1 that "the Throne" is "the Throne of God and The Lamb." So God the Father and Christ will reign together throughout the ages of eternity. However, Christ is the only member of the God head who will be visible to our eyes." (Answers to your Bible Questions, Charles Halff, The Christian Jew Foundation, San Antonio, Texas, 1972, p. 39)
Jesus said, "God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth." John 4:24
Sorry, Mormons and Protestants don't agree either.
The writer should have done better homework.
Remember all Protestants: Test all things to show them to be approved by God.

Why Protestants Agree With Mormons? Part Eight
"Here are some examples. [Part seven of eight]
God has a physical body
The LDS Church teaches that God the Father has a glorified and perfected physical body of flesh and bone, and that we are literally created in His likeness and image. The Church also teaches that since Jesus Christ was Resurrected, He also has a body of flesh and bone.
Why do Protestants agree?
Protestants believe in the Nicene concept of The Trinity, which means that God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are all the same - three beings on one substance. Protestants also believe in the physical Resurrection of Jesus Christ. So if Jesus really was resurrected then that means God has a physical body since Jesus has one since He is God and They are of "one substance"." (Kelly Bingham, Why Protestants Agree With Mormons (They Just Don't Realize It), www.mormoni10.com, December 7, 2007)
The Bible says that both males and females are created in the image of God. The word "image" doesn't refer to just physical characteristics of human flesh. God works on a spiritual level. The image is more related to intangible than tangible. Creativity, Consciousness, Personality, Abstract thinking, Moral judgments, Social skills, Learning skills, Spiritual stimulation, and so forth.
"In John 4:24 Jesus said, "God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth." He also said, "Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father" (John 14:9). Paul said Jesus is the image of the invisible God (Colossians 1:15). The writer of the Hebrews said the Son is the exact representation of the Father (Hebr. 1:3)." (Will God the Father Have A Glorified Body?, Ask A Bible Teacher, http://gracethrufaith.com)
"Here is a simple explanation of the Trinity that I give to my Jewish people when I witness to them: Jehovah is our heavenly Father, Jesus Christ is our Saviour and Redeemer and the Holy Spirit is our Comforter and Teacher.
We cannot know any one of the Trinity without knowing the other two. In other words, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit subsist together in one infinite, divine essence called Jehovah or God. (Answers to your Bible Questions, Charles Halff, The Christian Jew Foundation, San Antonio, Texas, 1972, p. 39, italics added)
Sorry, Mormons and Protestants don't agree here either.
