The Reward Of Perserverance

"Remember those earlier days after you had received the light, when you stood your ground in a great contest in the face of suffering. Sometimes you were publicly exposed to insult and persecution; at other times you stood side by side with those who were so treated. You sympathized with those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, because you knew that you yourselves had better and lasting possessions. So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. For in just a very little while, "He who is coming will come and will not delay. But my righteous one will live by faith. And if he shrinks back, I will not by pleased with him." But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved." (Hebrews 10:32-39)

I Put My Trust In You Lord

"O Lord, hear my prayer, listen to my cry for mercy; in your faithfulness and righteousness come to my relief. Do not bring your servant into judgment, for no one living is righteous before you. The enemy pursues me, he crushes me to the ground; he makes me dwell in darkness like those long dead. So my spirit grows faint within me; my heart within me is dismayed. I remember the days of long ago; I meditate on all your works and consider what your hands have done. I spread out my hands to you; my soul thirsts for you like a parched land. Answer me quickly, O Lord; my spirit fails. Do not hide your face from me or I will be like those who go down to the pit. Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul." (Psalm 143:1-8)

God bless all those who search night and day for our Lord and His rest, for in Him I put my trust.

What Mormon Eyes Do You Have?

*Mormons approach their Jesus through the eyes of Mormon leadership instead of approaching their leaders through the eyes of Jesus*

Fourteen Fundamentals

I came across this video the other day, and was so moved by it that I had to share it with everyone. It explains the Fourteen Fundamentals of following the tenets of the Mormon prophet. The comments regarding them are clearly accurate and factual.

Life In The Cross

A Joe Moment

The Prophets Answer to Sundry Questions

"Are the Mormons abolitionists?"
No, unless delivering the people from priestcraft, and the priests from the power of Satan, should be considered abolition. But we do not believe in setting the negroes free."
(Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, Deseret Book Co., pgs 119 & 120)

The anti-slavery movement was in full swing when ole' Joe made this quote. The Northern states were helping those who wanted to be free, become so. Among those of the South, most believed it was Biblical to have slaves. Where Joe made this statement, I do not know, however, the state that he designated to be the land of Adam-ondi-Ahman loved their slaves. The Mormon church's official stance on slavery was mixed. Joe, he clearly put the official final word on the subject of the abolitionists within that time period. Joe Smith did not want any human, unless "white and delightfulsome", to be a part of the new movement called Mormonism.
The many 'prophets and quorums', since the time of Joe, have changed their official opinions on the abolishment of slavery many times [about as many as a baby's diaper change]. So, the final word in the present diaper is: Give me your colored human of any race, because I'm hungry for all the money I can get, no matter who is giving it to me...!

The Illness:The Double-Bind

If there could be a diagnosis deemed by the medical world for mind rape, "The Pattern of The Double-Bind in Mormonism" would be the name of that grave illness. An illness that is a complex, hidden cancer that festers unceasingly and is undetectable to almost everyone. It erodes away every healthy mind it comes in contact with, and will cause necrotic cranial fissures that deepen in time.
If there is an arc of life that remains within the cell bodies of what is left of an untouched area of healthy brain tissue, then, and hopefully then, that spark will energize a warning sign or an urgent message that screams out how something inside is terribly wrong.
Marion Stricker, who wrote "The Pattern of The Double-Bind in Mormonism," was able to give identity to a vast corrosive epidemic within the mind of all who believe in the so-called prophet Joe Smith and his cult.
My husband skimmed through the book and commented to me about how this particular book described me. He said it fits me to a "T". It's a long road to reality and truth (especially if you never had them in the first place). I've spent the majority of the past fifteen years fixing the problem. Some of the symptoms creep in now and again and my husband is quick to point that fact out. So, I strongly urge everyone to spend the money and get the book. It is a must read for anyone who is in Mormonism (and out) to understand why Mormonism is so hard to brake free from and heal (move) on with life in a mature way.
Leaning on the Lord is the cure for this disease. He will be your constant companion and guide. "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28 NIV).

A Joe Moment

God an Exalted Man (???)

"God himself was once as we are now, and is an exalted man, and sits enthroned in yonder heavens! That is the great secret." (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, Deseret Book Company, pg. 345)

Nowhere in the Bible does it say that God is or was an exalted man!
This is what the Bible has to say:
"God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth." (John 4:24)

"This is what the Lord says-Israels King and Redeemer, the Lord Almighty: I am the first and I am the last; apart from me there is no God." (Isaiah 44:6)

"Do not tremble, do not be afraid. Did I not proclaim this and foretell it long ago? You are my witnesses. Is there any God besides me? No, there is no other Rock; I know not one." (Isaiah 44:8)

"Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me." (Isaiah 43:10)

"...for I am God, and there is no other." (Isaiah 45:22)

"The Lord is the true God; he is the living God, the eternal King." (Jeremiah 10:10)

"You were shown these things [God speaking out of fire, taking one nation out of another nation, testings, miraculous signs, wonders,...] so that you might know that the Lord is God: besides him there is no other." (Deuteronomy 4:35, brackets added)

Jesus Christ is our deity.
"For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority." (Colossians 2:9&10)

About Me

My photo
Michigan, United States
I spent a lot of time deciding if I should write this blog or not. I'm not a great writer and I'm not going to pretend to be. I need to share what I have learned and I might not make some people happy with what I am saying. This blog is a way for me to release the thoughts and feelings that come with knowing I grew up in the wrong religion. A healing process if you will.

How To Read This Blog

Please start with the month of February 2007 and read backwards. This is the most effective way to understand, in order, why I say what I do.

Handmaidens Creed

1.I believe in God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit as one God without beginning or end.
2.I believe the Bible to be the Holy Inspired word of God with full truth and righteousness. No other writing is.
3.I believe that the work of the Lord comes first. Before any temporal thing or person.
4.I believe that grace is a gift and Christ gives that gift freely to all who believe.
5.I believe that the beauty of a woman is contained inside of her and not by what she looks like on the outside.
6.I believe that marriage is sacred and represents the Godhead on earth; two are one just as three are one.
7.I believe that love is more powerful than any other power. Remember, God is love.
8.I believe that tithing is not a part of God's new covenant, free will offerings are. And that doesn't mean just money.
9.I believe that the Aaronic, Levitical, and Melchizedek priesthoods are abolished and Christs Holy Priesthood whom Christ is the "Great High Priest" is eternal.
10.I believe that every believer is a priest in the "Priesthood of Believers".
11.I believe that when two are one, nobody is to separate the one.
12.I believe that Christ is the only way to heaven.
13.I believe that our bodies are temples, not man made buildings.
14.I believe that liars make fools out of others and the liar hates the fool.
15.I believe that all believers are in authority to preach the gospel.
16.I believe that the word 'organization' to describe Christs body is evil and has no place with God.
17.I believe the Americas are not the land of Zion and Christ will return to His origonal land-Israel in the Middle East.
18.I believe that God has set out correct ways of worshiping Him, not man.
19.I believe in holding to the truths of the Bible and not mans understanding of it.
20.I believe that the world is full of evil and Satan can easily gain control over the minds of those who do not profess Christ of the Bible to be their only Messiah.
21.I believe that Saints are those who know the real Savior, Jesus Christ, of whom the Bible speaks of; not the jesus of a cult.
